Capcom Reveals Street Fighter 6 and Capcom Fighting Collection
Capcom’s countdown comes to an end today with a big reveal of the next game in the Street Fighter series.
At the beginning of last week, Capcom had put up a countdown site waiting to reveal something in the next 7 days. That countdown ended and it was revealed by Capcom that Street Fighter 6 is in development! The trailer features Ryu who looks to be older, about to be in a fight against Luke. Luke was originally introduced as the last playable and downloadable character of Street Fighter 5, so it is cool to see that he will be in the next iteration of the game.
Capcom had mentioned that more information about Street Fighter 6 would be revealed during Summer 2022. My personal guess is when Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest begins.
To “celebrate 35 years of Capcom fighting games”, Capcom also announced Capcom Fighting Collection, which will release on June 24th, 2022. It includes 10 fighting games which are:
Hyper Street Fighter II – The Anniversary Edition (originally released in October 2004)
Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix (originally released in September 1997)
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo (originally released in May 1996)
Red Earth (originally released in December 1996)
Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness (originally released in May 1994)
Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors (originally released in July 1994)
Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge (originally released in March 1995)
Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire (originally released in May 1997)
Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers’ Revenge (originally released in September 1997)
Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire (originally released in September 1997)
The game will also feature changes and improvements like Online Play, Quality-of-Life changes, Museum and more. will release on Steam, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. Capcom Fighting Collection releases both physically (except steam) and digitally on Steam, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox for the price of $49.99 for the standard edition. There is a Capcom Fighting Bundle that includes Capcom Fighting Collection and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection for $59.99 – but this bundle is digital only.
