Steam and PlayStation Has A Demo Fest Going On!
Both platforms currently have demos available for a limited time so check it out!
The Game Awards 2022 just happened, and to celebrate the great games that were shown – both PlayStation and Steam currently have Demo Tests going on. They are currently available for a limited amount of time so definitely take the time to check them out. For PlayStation specially, these demos become unavailable to play on Monday December 12th, 2022. For Steam I currently haven’t seen when they end, but I will assume it is the same as when the PlayStation Demo become unavailable.
Here are the list of demos available right now on PlayStation and their descriptions:
Forspoken
This demo is available only on PS5 and is developed by Square Enix. I am excited to try this out because seeing the gameplay looked really fluid and fun. Here is the description on the PlayStation Store:
“Experience a slice of Forspoken and dive into the Action-RPG with this specially crafted Demo. Jump into Avoalet’s Water Garden and dash through the sprawling Athian landscape with Magic Parkour. Complete 5 main objectives to aid Frey in her quest to find her way home, and discover detours along the way. Combat treacherous foes with an extensive arsenal of attack & support magic. Forspoken releases worldwide on January 24, 2023.”
Thirsty Suitors
This game looks hilarious to play. Apparently, you play as this teenager named Jala and she has to face so many people like her exes, mom and more. The gameplay looks unique – it reminds me of a fighting game but also a mix of Persona Dancing comments. I will definitely check it out. The game is available on both PS4 and PS5, you can play the game here: Thirsty Suitors Demo – PlayStation Store
Season: A letter to the future
This is one of my most anticipated games honestly. This looks so calming and seems like it’ll be a great story to learn about the world and the characters that you find. You play as a black woman riding around the world with a bike and taking down stories she hears from strangers, and recording her discoveries in her voice recorder. It’s cute and a nice reset to all the action games we’ve had so far. The game is available to play on PS4 and PS5. Bramble: The Mountain King
I seen this game for the first time on Facebook and it creeped me out. The gameplay reminds me of Little Nightmares but it seems like you’re running away from a witch. It is able to be played on PS5. Here’s a better description from the PlayStation Store:
“Bramble The Mountain King is a grim adventure set in a world inspired by dark, Nordic fables. Explore the beautiful yet dangerous and twisted land of Bramble in your endeavour to rescue your sister. Traverse a wondrous landscape and survive deadly encounters with Bramble’s many hideous creatures.”
You Suck at Parking
This is the last game available on PlayStation’s Demo Fest. It is available to play on PS5 only and it looks really fun to play. Here is the description for it:
“Prepare to take part in the world’s most extreme parking experience in You Suck at Parking™, the only game where your driving skills aren’t as important as your parallel parking skills. Race against the clock to yank your handbrake in wild levels with ever-increasing difficulty.”
The rest of the games mentioned below will be games from the Steam demo fest and with their game descriptions, so you get a better idea about what they are about.
Wildfrost
“Take on the elements in Wildfrost, a tactical roguelike deckbuilder! Journey across a frozen tundra, collecting cards strong enough to banish the eternal winter…”
Mineko’s Night Market
“Mineko’s Night Market is a narrative-driven, social simulation adventure game that celebrates Japanese culture while encouraging players to craft, eat, and ultimately enjoy all the cats.”
Bits & Bops
“Bits & Bops is a collection of original rhythm mini-games. Featuring over 20 mini-games filled with catchy music, snappy gameplay and gorgeous, hand-drawn animation, Bits & Bops is sure to brighten your day.”
Distant Bloom
“From a world in ruins to a world in bloom. This serene management game lets you explore an alien planet where things have gone amiss. Harness the power of plants to restore the environment and build a flourishing community with your crewmates.”
Loddlenaut
Play as an interstellar custodian sent to clean up a polluted ocean planet. Repurpose marine debris and take care of axolotl-like alien creatures!
Mail Time
“It’s Mail Time! As a newly trained Mail Scout, put on your pack, grab those letters, and deliver them across Grumblewood Grove! The forest animals eagerly await the sight of your mushroom hat in this cozy, cottagecore light-platformer adventure!”
Valley Peaks
“The mountains are calling! Complete routes of varying difficulty to scale summits in this wholesome yet ribbiting first-person climbing sim. Overcome obstacles, unlock upgrades, explore a mountain paradise, and get chummy with Valley Peaks’ froggy inhabitants as you climb to your heart’s content.”
Scars Above
“Scars Above is a challenging sci-fi third-person action adventure shooter combining the rewarding feel of overcoming difficulty with a compelling and intricate story, set in a mysterious alien world to explore.”
